Isn’t a kinda gross how all the GOP candidates are practically falling over each other trying to get a piece of this frumpy bigot’s spotlight? Jeezus, they’re all over her like it’s Republican elephant mating season.

Look familiar?
This is kinda old news by now, but it’s one of the many things I see popping up again during the next election.
Kentucky county clerk jailed until she does her job, or quits it
Off to jail goes Kim Davis, the county clerk who refuses to do her legal duty—issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples—but also refuses to quit the position so that someone else might. Judge David Bunning, holding her in contempt of court, told her that he was a Catholic with his own religious beliefs, but “public officials must uphold the law.” Her failure to comply with the earlier court order, he said, could not be justified on religious grounds.
Oh, you know the Republican candidates are gonna trot her out every chance they get during the elections (assuming she’s out of jail by then, tee-hee!) since she’s their new poster-child for trying to paint Christians as “victims” of gay equality. They’re already circling their wagons around her, granting her martyrdom as they continue their screeching about the bullshit “war in religion” in America. And the best part? She’s been divorced three times and had children out of wedlock. Get off your fuckin’ moral high horse, lady. Maybe spend some of that jail time contemplating your own hypocritical behavior.
Jeezus. Can these Republican man-pigs possibly be any more anti-woman? Why not just ban vaginas while you’re at it? Yeah! Can’t have an abortion without a ‘gina, right guys!! *snork snork*
(I’m sure some women voted for this, too–there are always a few who vote their own rights away. Sigh.)
Michigan ‘Rape Insurance’ Bill Passes Into Law
Michigan lawmakers passed a controversial measure on Wednesday that will ban all insurance plans in the state from covering abortion unless the woman’s life is in danger. The law, which takes effect in March, will force women and employers to purchase a separate abortion rider if they would like the procedure covered, even in cases of rape and incest.
Supporters of the “Abortion Insurance Opt-Out Act” argue that it allows people who are opposed to abortion to avoid paying into a plan that covers it. Opponents have nicknamed it the “rape insurance” initiative, because it would force some women to anticipate the possibility of being raped by purchasing the extra abortion insurance ahead of time.
I find it vastly interesting that so many conservatives aren’t willing to admit that the GOP is holding this country hostage. Instead, they’re saying “Yeah, BOTH sides suck, they’re both to blame for this!” Yeah, nice try. While there is some truth to both sides causing gridlock in a general sense, the blame for this government shutdown lies squarely with the GOP — they are stamping their widdle feet and throwing a nationwide tantrum because they don’t like a law which has ALREADY GONE INTO EFFECT and been deemed Constitutional by our country’s highest court. Whether or not the law is “good” or “bad” is irrelevant to this point. The healthcare law was passed, and how these GOP asshats think they’re justified in defying the law because they didn’t get their way is beyond me. They truly are the Party of Obstruction and Denial.
Someone shared this on Facebook, I have no idea where it originated but it’s one of the most accurate ways of summarizing the GOP’s behavior and attitude in the past few years. The only thing it’s missing is 40+ lines for all the times they voted to repeal the new healthcare law and failed.
Oct 2008: “You’ll never get elected and pass healthcare.”
Nov 2008: “We’ll never let you pass healthcare.”
Jan 2009: “We’re gonna shout you down every time you try to pass healthcare.”
July 2009: “We’ll fight to death every attempt you make to pass healthcare.”
Dec 2009: “We will destroy you if you even consider passing healthcare.”
March 2010: “We can’t believe you just passed healthcare.”
April 2010: “We are going to overturn healthcare.”
Sept 2010: “We are going to repeal healthcare.”
Jan 2011: “We are going to destroy healthcare.”
Feb 2012: “We’re gonna elect a candidate who’ll revoke healthcare NOW.”
June 2012: “We’ll go to the Supreme Court, and they will overturn healthcare.”
Aug 2012: “American people’ll never re-elect you-they don’t want healthcare.”
Oct 2012: “We can’t wait to win the election and explode healthcare.”
Nov 2012: “We can’t believe you got re-elected & we can’t repeal healthcare.”
Feb 2013: “We’re still going to vote to obliterate healthcare.”
June 2013: “We can’t believe the Supreme Court just upheld healthcare.”
July 2013: “We’re going to vote like 35 more times to erase healthcare.”
Sept 2013: “We are going to leverage a government shutdown into defunding, destroying, obliterating, overturning, repealing, dismantling, erasing and ripping apart healthcare.”
Oct 2013: “WHY AREN’T YOU NEGOTIATING???”
Professional GOP douchenozzle Sen. Ted Cruz has been calling the ACA a “nightmare” when it hasn’t really been able to do anything yet. Someone on Gawker left the perfect comment for this:
Such a nightmare – a nightmare that people would not be forced to stay in a job they loathe because their insurance is not portable. A nightmare that being sick or having been sick sometime in the past would mean, well, nothing – you can still get insurance. A nightmare that insurance companies actually have to spend the vast majority of the premiums they take in on, wait for it, health care. A nightmare that insurance companies will actually have to be up front about costs and benefits in a a way that enables customers to make genuinely informed decisions. A nightmare that insurance companies will actually have to compete. A nightmare that millions of Americans will get a subsidy to help them buy insurance they could not otherwise afford.
Yes, it is a horror – to Senator Cruz. Not to me.
Of course “Obamacare” is still in its infancy and we won’t know the true impact for a while yet, but it stands to benefit a lot of people in very good ways. It’s obviously not for everyone and will probably raise premiums for some, but I don’t claim to be an expert and understand every little thing about it. But I do know that calling it a “nightmare” before it’s even started is more than a little ridiculous. But that’s the GOP for ya.
Government Shutdown: 9 Million Moms And Babies At Risk As WIC Program Halts
The government shutdown may be keeping National Parks closed and furloughed federal workers at home, but worse real-world effects could soon be felt by low-income mothers and their infants — already a marginalized group with unstable food supplies.
Listening to these fucktards on the news, you’d think that the worst effect of their government shutdown is that kids and tourists aren’t able to visit national monuments and parks.
They are the scum of the earth, folks. I hope the aftermath of this shutdown business puts an end to their evil party once and for all. But I know that won’t happen…because like a turd that just won’t let go and drop into the toilet, evil has a way of hanging on.
Rush Limbaugh And Sean Hannity Booted From Airwaves By Second Largest Radio Broadcaster
With over 2,700 sponsors removing their ads from Limbaugh’s show and the millions of dollars it has cost, it was only a matter of time before a major radio distributor dropped the program in favor of a show that isn’t overwhelmingly boycotted. Perhaps the high asking price of Clear Channel gave Cumulus the excuse to finally drop him, although it should have done it much sooner. But hey, better late than never, right?
Good riddance. However, like vermin tend to do, they will resurface elsewhere to infest the airwaves and stir up shit.
Without Tampons Present, Texas Passes Restrictive Abortion Law
After banning the presence of any female hygiene products from its Senate floor, Texas passed its restrictive abortion law last night, which will ban abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy as well as install new regulations that will most likely drive abortion clinics out of business.
Another defeat in the right-wing war on women. Yay! Now get back into the kitchen where you belong, ladies. You’re lucky we even let you people vote. *snort*
