Ohhhhh dear. The guy in charge of the recent Oregon mass-shooting is one of these people who thinks the Sandy Hook shooting (and probably others) was some sort of “false flag” operation by secret government provocateurs who are trying to scare the people into supporting a ban on guns. And, naturally, the commie pinko leftist media is conspiring with them to Cover Up The Truth™. It’s just the usual nonsense we’ve come to expect from extreme right wing gun-worshiping paranoiacs. It wouldn’t surprise me in the least if he’s also one of these “9/11 truthers”, since they run in the same batshit-crazy circles.
I highly recommend clicking through to this story and seeing some of his now-deleted rantings. The original story over at Talking Points Memo has even more. To me, anyone that infatuated with guns shouldn’t be in a position to point them at the general public.
Sheriff John Hanlin, who is leading the investigation into the mass shooting at Umpqua Community College in Oregon where at least 10 people were killed, had previously shared a widely debunked Sandy Hook conspiracy video in addition to multiple anti-gun regulation posts on Facebook. All of which Hanlin apparently began deleting less than an hour ago.
In the since-deleted post, which refers to a video positing that the parents seen grieving in the wake of Sandy Hook were actually hired “crisis actors,” Hanlin wrote: “This makes me wonder who we can trust anymore… Watch, listen, and keep an open mind.”
