I keep forgetting to blog this! My photos from our recent trip down to Arizona are online. I’ve split them into two galleries because one needs a gallery of its own. The first one is general pics from the trip: lots of cool sights out the plane window (some of the best I’ve taken), some pics of my little hometown of Winslow which is both booming in some ways and rapidly decaying in others, a visit to Tonto Natural Bridge (plus a little video of that), some wild javelinas, a visit to the TV station where my brother works (in Phoenix), and lots of pretty desert scenery.
The other gallery is for our side-trip to Wupatki National Monumuent, showing the largest complex of intact pueblo ruins for 50 miles around. I believe they date back over 800 years. We were there right at sunset, too, which always gives desert photos a certain vibe because of the long shadows and deep red light. The color is a little odd sometimes, though, because my camera doesn’t always know what to do when the lighting is like that. Anyway there’s a bit of video in this gallery, too. I grew up in Winslow only an hour away from these ruins and I had never bothered to go see them!
