  1. Even with these terror acts it still way safer to fly the plane to and from London than it is to drive to the airport. Get a grip dude, when did you start getting afraid of these tiny odds.
So there are still friendly skies in most of the world…. (Maybe not in the Israel and Lebanon area)

  2. Swimming in broken glass that’s infested with hungry crocodiles is safer than driving to the airport or anywhere else in London.
The thing that really scares me about these attempts at terrorism is the fact that people react to them by saying, “OMIGOD! I could have been killed! I’d better give up more of my civil rights!”
Notice that both Bush and Blair were briefed and quoted from their vacation spots. Guess international security ranks below tee time.

  3. I’m not willing to give up any civil rights, and I’m not flying off the handle and losing control of my bodily functions over the whole thing…I just happen to be traveling soon and, you know, it’s hard not to think about. I challenge anyone to have zero concern about flying overseas after this. It doesn’t mean you have to freak out, it’s just admitting a possibility. These religious nutjobs are obviously not sitting idle.

  4. Yeah, I know what you mean. It’s kind of twisted when you realize you’re reminiscing about the good ol’ days when all you had to worry about was the plane crashing on its own. At least you’ll have those handy barf bag advertisements to keep your mind on consuming. 🙂
And there are nutjobs of all persuasions all over the planet. What if you were in that Jewish center when the gunman walked in? What if someone is going to get even with the insurance industry tomorrow? I agree that it would be on my mind if I were flying soon, but I just can’t go there on a daily basis. If I’m going to die someday, I want to have at least lived in the meantime.

  5. The terrorists are winning. I expect that a lot of people will be furious at me for saying that, but the terrorists are not only scaring us into giving up some of out civil liberties; we’ve also given up our common sense. We’ve been taking off our shoes at checkpoints for how many years now? And why? Because one lone idiot concealed some explosives — not even enough to bring down the plane if it had gone off — in a shoe & took it on a plane. And now it’s a total ban on all liquids & gels except baby formula, which is allowed if a parent drinks some of it to satisfy the airline security Gestapo (BTW, if that test works for baby formula, why wouldn’t it work for water?) I have two trips by air planned within the next month, one domestic & one transatlantic. Now, on top of all the other colossal pains in the butt, I can look forward to leg cramps because you know the airline isn’t going to provide enough water for everybody on board. That rule probably will persist as long as the shoe removal nonsense has. We will have turned around the war against terrorism when we get some common sense back & stop acting like terrified twits.
