A little news from my home state here: a tribe in Arizona is trying to install a glass-bottomed walkway on the edge of the Grand Canyon. The idea is that tourists will want to walk 70 feet out over the canyon and look straight down. This sounds like a cool idea, if they can make it structurally sound. Can the rocks it will be attached to withstand the erosion which made the canyon in the first place? I guess we’ll eventually find out. However, they want to charge $25 per person. $25 to walk 70 feet and back? The view had better be a damned good one!
