Welcome to the Devolution

Jason Orne sent this one in…  Looks like Texas is taking another step back into the Dark Ages by trying to pass a bill which bans same-sex foster parents.  “I don’t think it is right for young children to be exposed to this type of behavior when they are young and innocent,” says Rep. Robert Talton.  “It is our responsibility to make sure that we protect our most vulnerable children and I don’t think we are doing that if we allow a foster parent that is homosexual or bisexual.”  Notice his vocabulary…his use of the words young, innocent, vulnerable, and protect reveal his intent to paint homosexual couples as vile, dangerous people who aim to corrupt and destroy children.  Now, consider all the kids sitting in foster homes waiting to be adopted by loving parents.  Then consider all the abortions which occur every year.  Would these people rather see children have no parents at all (or have no life past the womb) just because of their irrational fear and prejudice against homosexuals?  What ignorant, arrogant, selfish people these are, putting their own religious and political agendas ahead of the children they claim to care about so much.  Welcome to Texas, folks!

  1. Of course they would rather see children have no parents at all (or have no life past the womb) just because of their irrational fear and prejudice against homosexuals.

  2. They’re just trying to legislate a new social structure, same with all the other crap that’s been passed lately… tough to get the genie back in the bottle, though. It isn’t about the children, it’s about marginalizing people who don’t measure up to their “moral values”.
